Happy St. Paddy's Day!!


Black History Vocabulary for 6A and 6B-
Students will look words up on Ipad on Monday.  We will also begin Literature Circles.  There will be 5 groups of students.  Each will have a different book.  Each student will be assigned a task.  When they have completed the tasks, they will present the information to the other groups.  All 5 books have the same theme- Slave Quilts.

1.            Assassination

3.            Discrimination

4.            Hymns

5.            Indigo

6.            Segregate

7.            Big Dipper/Drinking Gourd

9.            Civil War
10.          Conductor (as in the Underground Railroad)

VERY IMPORTANT- THE LAST BOOK TITLE IS DUE ON MARCH 28TH.  STUDENTS IN ALL CLASSES MUST HAVE A NONFICTION BOOK.  HOWEVER, I HAVE TOLD THEM THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DO ONE WITHIN THEIR THEME.  THEY CAN PICK ANY TOPIC THEY WANT.  I HAVE NOT GIVEN ANY INFORMATION ON PROJECTS YET- RIGHT NOW, I JUST WANT STUDENTS TO GET THEIR BOOKS.

6C MAKE SURE YOU ARE WORKING ON YOUR INTERVIEWS!  IF I HAVE SEVERAL STUDENTS TELL ME THEY NEED AN EXTENSION- I HAVE NO PROBLEM GIVING ONE.  I JUST NEED TO KNOW.  I WILL TRY TO REMEMBER TO ASK ON MONDAY.
