Something is wacky with my blog- having trouble posting... 2/24/2014

BRING BACK SIGNED PROGRESS REPORTS - STUDENTS RECEIVED PROGRESS REPORTS FROM ME ON FRIDAY.  I NEED THOSE SIGNED AND RETURNED MONDAY.  6A AND 6B HAD PAPERS STAPLED TO THEIRS- I NEED THOSE BACK AS WELL.

Watch out Myrtle Beach!  Here comes NCS!!

I will be staying back at school on Thursday to do remediation with any students that aren't going on the fieldtrip.  Yes, you need to bring your school supplies and yes, you will still be going to electives.

CONGRATS TO OUR BATTLE OF THE BOOKS TEAM-I AM SO PROUD OF THE 4 OF YOU!!

DON'T FORGET OUR Odyssey of the Mind TEAM.  THEY ARE COMPETING THIS WEEKEND!  BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

Friday is the 1st ever Masquerade Ball.  Make sure you have your nice outfits and masks ready.
Mr. Ward will be taking professional photographs the night of the dance.

Each student can get a 5X7 and 4 wallets for only $10.00.

So, looks like we have a lot of amazing things going on this week- busy, busy, busy.

As much as it breaks your hearts, I will have to eliminate vocabulary tests this week.  Stop, don't cry.  Get it together, it will be ok...

So, what are we doing...

6C- will continue their study of Black History Month.
Monday, we will work on our slave quilts and narrative.  These will be due on Wednesday.
Next, we will move onto the Harlem Renaissance.

6A and 6B-

Oh boy, do we have much to do.  Your god/goddess books are due Monday.  Parents (just so you know) they had three class periods with Ipads to work on 12 Olympians- so there shouldn't be too much left to do.  Each page needs 2 pictures and basic information about each god/goddess.

Also, each student needs to bring in first draft of book report.  We will be spending all class period on Wednesday working on posters.  Only students with finished handout may work on posters.  I am allowing snacks and personal electronics (only for music) that day.  If a student wants to listen to music they need to bring headphones.  I have glue, construction paper, markers, crayons, and a few other art supplies.  However, students may feel free to bring in their own embellishments and art supplies.

After we finish gods/goddesses, we will read more myths and create our own mythological creatures.
